Man shot during house party, suspect identified
Midwest City police are investigating a shooting that occurred last Thursday night during a large gathering in a neighborhood on Serenade Drive.
Officers responded to the 1800 block of Serenade at about 10:26 p.m. on July 24 after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they located an adult male who had been shot in the upper thigh.
Police administered first aid to the victim until emergency medical personnel arrived. He was later transported to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
According to authorities, a party was taking place at one of the homes in the area when a disturbance broke out, leading to the shooting. The exact number of shots fired remains unclear.
Witnesses at the scene, as well as the victim, cooperated with officers and investigators as they began their inquiry into the incident.
Police say they have identified the adult male suspect involved in the shooting and are actively searching for him. His identity is being withheld pending his arrest.
