Midwest City Beacon

A 21-year-old Oklahoma City man was killed late Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash on the Interstate 40 westbound onramp from Douglas Blvd., near the Industrial Blvd. overpass.

According to a preliminary report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred about 11:30 p.m. Troopers said a vehicle driven by Amarius N. Berry was traveling westbound on the I-40 onramp when it departed the roadway to the right for about 252 feet. The vehicle hit a bump, went airborne, and struck the underside of the Industrial Blvd. overpass before coming to rest on the onramp.

Berry, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, troopers said.

No other passengers were in the vehicle.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
