A new housing development in Midwest City will soon be welcoming its first residents.

Joel Bryant, with Bentwood Investments LLC, recently opened the Glenhaven residential community near Glenhaven Drive and E. Reno Avenue. The nearly 10-acre development will feature a mix of duplexes and single-family homes.

The first phase focuses on duplexes. Each unit includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a one-car garage, offering about 1,000 square feet per side.

“They’ve got garages, backyards, washer and dryer hookups,” Bryant said. “Our plan was to provide lawn care with occupancy, so it keeps the neighborhood consistent and looking nice. Everyone gets mowed at the same time.”

Bryant and his wife, Jill Bryant, who handles interior and exterior design for their projects, have completed 10 duplexes so far. Another 10 are underway, and the final nine are breaking ground soon.

They have also received interest in the upcoming 12 single-family homes, which Bryant hopes to begin early next year.

“We’ve actually had several inquiries from a nearby neighborhood interested in the single-family homes, so we may end up doing some custom or semi-custom homes over there,” he said.

Bryant described the Glenhaven duplexes as a “hybrid option between an apartment and a home.” The homes are designed to provide privacy and space without the upkeep of a traditional house.

All 58 duplex units will be for lease, with monthly rent set at $1,495. Bryant said the development is attracting a diverse group of renters.

“It seems like we’re seeing younger professionals, retirees, and even some single tenants or roommates,” he said. “Being two-bedroom units, it’s not necessarily for large families, but more for couples or individuals.”

Bryant said he made it a priority to hire local contractors for the project.

“We wanted to use as many local contractors as we could,” he said. “The gutter guys are based here in the city, and there’s just a lot of guys we’ve been able to use that are local. It’s been an emphasis.”

Bryant said he envisions Glenhaven appealing to professionals working nearby.

“Our ideal renters are hospital staff and Tinker employees,” he said. “It’s a great location and a product that’s new and unique for this market.”

The Glenhaven development has evolved since Bryant first proposed building a 200-unit apartment complex on the property in 2021. After feedback from residents, the project was redesigned to include a mix of duplexes and single-family homes with lower density. Bryant said he appreciated the cooperation from city leaders in bringing the revised project to life.

In addition to Glenhaven, Bryant and Bentwood Investments recently began work on another project in Midwest City. Crews have started clearing property near SE 15th St. and Moore Ave. for a planned business park.

“SE 15th and Moore will be a business park with multiple buildings and shared parking,” Bryant said. “We are envisioning professional offices that could include legal, accounting, real estate and doctors — with buildings that can range from 2,000 to 4,000 square feet. We expect to have buildings underway by mid-2026.”
