And it certainly started out that way.

Phillips crossed the finish line in fourth place in 16:47. Shaw was just a step behind in fifth at 16:48. They were the top Class 5A runners in the meet and trailed only a trio of Edmond runners.

Junior Matt Moler was next for the Titans in 16th place with a time of 17:31. He was followed by the Dodson brothers. Micah finished 26th in 17:49 and Jacob was 49th in 18:25. Keyton Dozier (19:17) and Eric Aguilar (19:48) were displacers for Carl Albert.

Edmond North, which had three top 10 runners, cruised to the team title with 35 points. Santa Fe South was runner-up with 95 points and Carl Albert took third with 100.

Zach Mauck of Edmond Memorial won the Carl Albert Titan Invitational in 16:20. Edmond North’s Parker Jackson (16:31) and Nick Kenville (16:32) rounded out the top three.

Carl Albert also finished third in the JV boys race. Shevrin Gray and Blake Vogt both placed in the top 20. Del City placed 14th in the JV boys race. Roger Bautista was 19th overall in 19:08.
