Lady Titans volleyball team shows true colors
As the regular season winds down, the Carl Albert volleyball team is heating up.
The Lady Titans swept No. 20 Lawton MacArthur and Class 6A’s Putnam City West at home in the past week.
Carl Albert beat MacArthur 25-14, 25-16, 25-18 last Thursday. They returned Tuesday night to down Putnam City West, 25-11, 25-13, 25-15, for their third straight win.

Mat Hunter had a huge night against MacArthur. The senior led with 13 kills along with four aces and six digs. Sydney Breckenridge had a team-high 15 assists and 14 digs. And Kenzie Holland finished with six blocks.
The match doubled as a Pink Out fundraiser for cancer research. The players wore special pink t-shirts and raised money to support Susan G Koman Breast Cancer Center.
The Lady Titans also recognized principal Kristin Goggans before the match. Goggans has been battling cancer since early this year and recently completed chemotherapy treatment.
Coach Toriano Lands, a Carl Albert alumni and former classmate of Goggans, praised Goggans for her leadership, drive and friendship. He presented her with a pink volleyball signed by the team.
Each of the players gave Goggans a rose during introductions.
The team was back in action Tuesday for another big win over Putnam City West.
Renee McBride-Rogers had a strong outing with 8 kills, 4 aces and 2 digs. Hunter led with 15 digs and Cali Walker had 5 blocks in the win.
Carl Albert is playing in the Noble Tournament this weekend.
