Free Co-Sponsored Workshop about Dec.1 wage, hour changes
Small Business Owners and Managers encouraged to attend Co-Sponsored Workshop at EOC Tech
On Wednesday Nov. 9, 2016 at 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m., Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center along with Harrah Chamber of Commerce and Choctaw Chamber of Commerce, will hold a free Co-Sponsored Workshop consisting of two meeting sessions in EOC Tech Oak Room located in the main building next to the cafeteria.
The sessions are designated to provide additional information about The Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA) Major Wage and Hour Changes that are effective December 1, 2016. Those interested in attending can either attend the morning/afternoon session or the evening session.
Harold Baade, EOC Tech Small Business Coordinator said, in May, The Department of Labor published the final rules revising the ‘white collar’ overtimes exemption regulations. Since then, HR experts across the country have been scrambling to help their bosses, clients and employees understand what these changes mean to their business.
The sessions will help those in attendance understand if they are prepared for the change and will assist in answering the questions of what businesses the FSLA changes apply to, how to deal with and apply the new rules, how to pay exempt workers and explain the cost of compliance.
EOC Tech will provide complimentary water, coffee, tea and cookies. For additional questions please contact Harold Baade by e-mail at hbaade@eoctech.org or by phone at 405.390.5313.
