A new barbecue restaurant is set to open soon at 151 East Main Street in Tuttle. B-Ray’s BBQ will convert from a food truck operation to a brick and mortar sit down family style restaurant.

“We’re going to have all smoked meat. We’ll be doing brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausages, hot links and then will also be doing steaks and burgers. And we’re going to offer a chicken strip dinner,” said B-Ray’s BBQ Owner Brandie Sosa.

Everything’s going to be made fresh and cut to order at the new restaurant.

“We’re going to do cut and order in front of our customers so they know they’re getting fresh quality food right in front of them. They’ll come in and order and then they’ll get to be part of the experience,” said B-Ray’s Manager Kayla Pipkins.

B-Ray’s BBQ will offer a large selection of meats and freshly made sides.

“We’re gonna have all fresh made items everyday. We’ll offer baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, French fries, fried okra, macaroni and cheese,” said Sosa.

The restaurant will also have a drive-thru window for convenience. It will be located on the west side of the building. Customers can drive around the back of the building to access it.

B-Ray’s BBQ will still offer all the favorites from the popular food truck.

“Most all the items we had on the food truck will be in the restaurant,” said Pipkins.

The restaurant is a family run business and locally owned. The food truck was such a big hit that customers encouraged them to open up the new restaurant.

“That sparked the idea. My whole family enjoys cooking. We’ve been in the restaurant business and it’s just something that we’re passionate about. So we decided to give it a try,” said Sosa.

Look for B-Ray’s BBQ to open sometime in the next couple of weeks. They will serve lunch and dinner Monday-Saturday. The hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and closed on Sundays. Check out their Facebook page for updates and look for their ads in the paper each week.

“I think it’s going to be neat. We’re going to cut the order right in front of the customers. Everything is going to be fresh and good quality. I think a lot of people will enjoy that. Me and my husband did all the cooking in the food truck and will still continue to do that,” said Pipkins.
