Cary Simonds has been hired as Economic Development Director for the City of Choctaw.

Cary Simonds

Simonds was raised in Yukon, and he’s excited to return to his home state after spending much of his career in Texas.

He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Simonds’ work experience is a balanced combination of sales and marketing plus development.

His prior work experience includes Hershey Chocolate USA where he served in different roles from retail to strategic planning and developing new markets, as well as development and fundraising with Special Olympics Texas, and most recently private nonprofit schools in Houston Texas.

Simonds is excited to return home to Oklahoma, and sees much potential with the opportunities in the future development of Choctaw.

In his new role as Economic Development Director he will be responsible for working with the community and businesses throughout the city and state to provide opportunities to connect with grants and other funding to help move the economic growth of the city forward.

A first step for Simonds will be unifying the Choctaw Economic Development Authority Board with new objectives.
