Del City’s girls basketball team has some momentum heading into the postseason.

The Lady Eagles closed out the regular season with back-to-back wins over Guthrie and Carl Albert last week.

On Valentine’s Day, they rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Guthrie 60-55. The Lady Bluejays led much of the way and had a five-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Del City outscored the home team 23-13 in the final eight minutes of action.

Sacha Hunt finished with a game-high 29 points.

Del City picked up their biggest win of the season Friday night as they topped Carl Albert 66-61 on senior night at John Smith Fieldhouse.

Hunt had another big game for the Lady Eagles with 20 points and three 3-pointers. Courtnie McCarroll finished with 18 points and Shelby Thornton added 12 in the victory.

Ausha Moore paced the Lady Titans with 18 points, and Ariana Diaz finished with 12 points.

Del City started hot and led 17-9 at the end of the first quarter and 35-29 at halftime.

Carl Albert finished strong but couldn’t overcome the early deficit.

The two teams could meet again this week at regionals. Carl Albert is hosting a Class 5A regional tournament Thursday and Saturday. The Lady Titans open against Lawton Eisenhower and Del City faces Duncan in the first round. The winners will meet in the regional final at 2 p.m. Saturday.
