Midwest City star De’Yanna Douglas got off a 37-foot throw in the discus competition to claim first place in the loaded Edmond Memorial Track and Field Meet Saturday.

The top teams from the West plus the Beasts from the East, Broken Arrow and Jenks, were in the field, but none of them could match the talented MWC sophomore who got her winning throw on her second attempt.

The Lady Bombers also brought home medals in the 400 meter relay as the foursome of Mikayla Freeman, Mya Brown, Deyunsha Westbrook and Avionna Grigsby finished fourth in a time of 50.68/

Grigsby, the transfer from Choctaw, also placed in two other events. She was fourth in the 200 with a time of 27.32 and took fifth place in the 100 with a time of 13.03.

Hannah Jordan was fifth in the long jump with an 16-1.75 effort and Brown was sixth in the 100 in 13.05.

THE BOMBERS brought home the third-place medals in the 400 meter relay as the foursome of Darjuan Davis, Greg Gordon, Santana Landon and Steven Brazille finished third in a time of 43.35.

The MWC 800 meter relay was fifth with a team of Brazille, Davis, LeSean Walker and Santana Landon.
