Midwest City residents were in for a treat last Thursday night.

The City of Midwest City hosted its annual Neighborhood Association Celebration at Joe B. Barnes Regional Park. Guests enjoyed burgers and hot dogs, door prizes, awards and other activities.

The event was open to citizens who are actively involved in their neighborhood association.

More than 230 people, representing 24 neighborhood associations, attended the Neighborhood Association Celebration.

Barbara Kelton, Neighborhood Initiative Coordinator, presented four awards at the celebration. They included:

  • Midwest City Spirit Award – Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association
  • Neighborhood Communication Award – Ridgecrest Neighborhood Association
  • Neighborhood of the Year – Homeland Estates/Forest Cassidy Cove
  • Community Business Partnership Award – Crest Foods

The Midwest City Neighborhood Association is a group of nearly 30 neighborhoods in the Midwest City area that address varying concerns. The associations hold meetings at the Charles J. Johnson Building, 8726 SE 15th St., Midwest City for each individual neighborhood.
