The Carl Albert boys didn’t show much hospitality last week as they hosted a Class 5A West Regional tournament.

The Titans dominated Noble and Elgin as they cruised to a regional title and trip to the Area round.

Carl Albert beat Noble 98-42 in the first round of the regional on Thursday night.

They had 13 players score in the game led by Jayden Hopkins with 20 points. Marcus James was next with 14 points, while Hutch Russell, Ryan Reynolds and Quincy Hopkins each had 10 points.

The home team led by double digits at the end of the first and went up 48-20 at halftime.

On Friday, Carl Albert punched their ticket to the Area tournament with an 85-46 win against Elgin.

Four players were in double figures for the Titans. Russell led the way with 17 points and five 3-pointers. Steven Anderson had 12 points, Jayden Hopkins added 11 and Reynolds scored 10.
Carl Albert led 45-23 at halftime.

The Titans will face Crossings Christian at 6 p.m. Friday in the West Area finals at Piedmont High School. The teams split in the regular season with each winning at home. The Titans have won nine games in a row.

The winner advances to the state tournament and the loser will play Santa Fe South/El Reno in the area consolation finals on Saturday.
