Carl Albert’s tennis team trekked to Ada last week for boys and girls tournaments.

The Titans only played a handful of matches in the boys tournament on Friday due to the weather.

Carter Reese won two matches at No. 1 singles and Jackson Bales won his only match No. 2 singles. Owen Ramirez also played No. 2 singles but lost his only match to top-seeded Brady Bacon of Ada.

In doubles play, Ben Sutterfield and Luke Fouquette beat Byng in their first match at No. 2 doubles but didn’t finish the second due to rain. The No. 1 doubles team of Jake Farley and Tyler Shaw drew a first-round bye and didn’t get on a court for their second match.

The weather improved Saturday for the girls tournament.

Georgia Mosher (1 singles) and Bailey Rusche (2 singles) both took fifth place in singles play.

Lily Bryant and Rylee Reese took sixth at No. 1 doubles. They beat McAlester and Duncan but lost to Ada and Guthrie.

At No. 2 doubles, Leigh Acuna and Haven Hudson came in 10th. After losing to Byng in the first round, the pair beat Harrah and Shawnee.
