Del City High School has promoted Karley Haley to softball head coach.

Haley replaces former head coach Erin Graeber who left for a job in a different district. She was an assistant under Graeber last year.

The Lady Eagles new coach is hoping to build the culture of Del City softball. She oversaw the offseason training where the teams focus on mechanics such as hitting and fielding. She’s also challenging her team to be dedicated to one another throughout the season.

Haley brings a lot of experience and knowledge, starting to play at age 5 and continuing through her college career at McPherson College.

A quick climb from assistant to head coach came with mixed emotions for Haley.

“I am eager and excited to see the growth we can make in just one season,” said Haley.

Del City had numerous struggles in the 2023 season, while winning only five games. Haley believes they have a bright future with many returning players.

“We will be a better organized program with better attitudes, and we will bring positivity back to Del City softball on top of winning more games,” Haley said.
