Carl Albert wins road games

Carl Albert’s softball team opened the season with a pair of wins on the road before dropping their home opener against defending state champion Piedmont.
The Lady Titans traveled to Pryor on Aug. 13 for a pair of games against Claremore and Glenpool.
Kynlee Sutton had a big game at the plate and in the circle against Claremore. She went 1 for 3 at the plate with 3 RBIs and allowed only two runs.
The sophomore put her team up for good with a three-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning, which scored Bailey Rusche, Kashlynn Anglin and Alexis Miller.
Alexis Miller had two hits and two RBIs in her high school debut.
In game two, Carl Albert stormed ahead early in a 6-2 win over Glenpool.
The Lady Titans put up five runs in the first. Rusche and Katie Norton each drove in a run, while Miller pushed three across the plate with a single. Rusche doubled in another run in the second.
Rusche and Miller led the way with two hits apiece.
Madison Ethridge earned the win after allowing one earned run on five hits.
On Thursday, Carl Albert welcomed Piedmont in a 4-1 loss in their home opener.
Piedmont led by a run for much of the game. They added another in the fifth and two in the seventh for the 4-1 victory.
Michaela Beal had the lone RBI for CA.
Sutton took the loss in a complete game. She allowed three earned runs on 11 hits along with two strikeouts.
Carl Albert took on Guthrie and Noble earlier this week. They will host Del City for a doubleheader on Thursday.
