Midwest City’s volleyball team has been in a bit of a slump.

The Lady Bombers have struggled to close out opponents and haven’t won back-to-back games in a month.

They may have found some momentum last weekend at the Claremore Crossover Tournament.

Midwest City went 2-3 on the first day of the tournament before beating Classen SAS and Guymon to claim third place.

“The girls played amazingly together and worked together well on the floor both days,” said coach Matti Dix.
On Friday, Midwest City dropped a close game to No. 9 Coweta (25-23, 26-24) and lost to No. 3 Claremore (25-19, 25-10) and Oologah-Talala (2-1). They also beat Wright Christian (25-20, 27-25) and Locust Grove (25-19, 25-10).

On Saturday, they finished with wins over No. 10 Classen SAS (2-0) and Guymon (25-23, 25-17).

Senior Trinnati Allen was named to the all-tournament team.

Midwest City is home against Douglass on Thursday.
