Choctaw High School improved to a perfect 5-0 in district play Friday with a 48-0 shutout of U.S. Grant.

The Yellowjackets marched on to the General’s field to capture the fifth straight District 6A-II-1 victory.

With many of the younger Yellowjackets getting valuable varsity field time, Choctaw put in 344 yards of offense on their way to six touchdowns.

Senior quarterback Cash Willimas had four passes good for 119 yards and three TDs.

Landon Gatson came in and threw for 74 yards and a TD.

Brycen Black stepped in at QB and connected on six of eight attempts good for 57 yards and a TD

All the usual receivers only snagged one reception each with most pulling the ball in for six points.

Nathan Keiffer had a 65-yard catch for a TD.

Hayden Mounce had an eight-yard TD reception.

Titus Hawk caught a 43-yard TD pass.

Dylan Dotson had a 70-yard TD reception.

Brodee Clifton had three receptions to total 34 yards and a TD of his own.

Mike Sims had to complete passes good for eight yards.

Choctaw took it easy on the run with the team totaling just 94 yards.

Kentrell Gaddis had the only rushing TD and finished with 41 yards of his own.

Emmanual Myers had 20 yards rushing, Black and Dotson each had a 13-yard run, and Braven McConnell added seven yards rushing.

Choctaw improved to 6-2 overall and 5-0 in district.

Under the direction of head coach Jake Corbin, the Yellowjackets claimed their first Class 6A district title in 2022, and CHS is on track to repeat this season.

Stillwater (6-2, 4-1) is sitting in second in District 6A-II-1, and will need to get by Piedmont (5-3, 3-2) and Southmoore (4-4, 3-2).

Choctaw coaches say finishing district play undefeated is crucial to secure the No. 1 seed and a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Choctaw (6-2, 5-0) hosts Eisenhower (3-5, 2-3) at 7 p.m. Nov. 1.

The regular season comes to a close at Northwest Classen (1-7, 0-5), Nov. 7.

Muskogee (8-0, 5-0), Putnam City North (7-1, 5-0), Sand Springs (5-3, 4-1), and Sapulpa (4-4, 4-1) are battling for top position in the other Class 6A-II district.
