Quality basketball will be played around the holiday season, and Carl Albert and Choctaw boys teams will play a part in the entertainment.

That comes through the Mustang Holiday Classic, a tournament occurring between Dec. 26 – 28 that offers a high level of competition among the high school basketball ranks.

The tournament, which has been going on for seven years, has been designed to put together matchups that won’t be seen during the regular season between teams from different Classes and areas of the state.

Robert Foreman, the Mustang Athletic Director, shared the brackets during a presentation to coaches and others in attendance Nov. 7. He said in the six years the Mustang Holiday Classic has been held, eight state champions have come out of the tournament field.

In the Boys field, Choctaw will face off with Marlow Dec. 26 at 10:30 a.m. Jenks will then play Carl Albert at 1:30 p.m. The winners will meet Friday, Dec. 27 at 5:30 p.m.

PC North will play Holland Hall Dec. 26 at 5:30 p.m. with the winner facing the victor of Mustang and Hooker, which occurs at 8:30 p.m., on Dec. 27 at 8:30 p.m.

There will also be consolation games occurring in subsequent times as the tournament unfolds.

The championship game for the tournament will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 28.
