Carl Albert’s wrestlers placed fifth last weekend at the Texas Outlaw Tournament in Allen, Texas.

The Titans had three finalists in Cash Wiley, Kingston Sikes and Cruz Young. Brayden Mixay finished sixth, Jackson Mortimer was eighth and Maddux Underhill placed ninth.

The 37-team tournament included a pool competition on Friday and bracket wrestling on Saturday. Each wrestler had about 6-8 matches.

“We had two really solid days of wrestling. Our guys had good practices over the Christmas Break, and it showed during the tournament,” said Carl Albert coach Curt Hodges. “They are getting better every time we compete. I was impressed with their toughness all weekend on the mat. The tournament gets tougher each round and we responded like we needed to.”

The Titans wrestled against Edmond North’s JV team on Tuesday. They will take on Westmoore JV Jan. 14 for senior night. The Malcolm Wade Tournament will be Jan. 17-18 at Carl Albert.
