Del City had a couple of medalists Saturday at the 80th annual Geary Invitational Tournament.

Dimitri Kizer finished runner-up at 150 pounds, and Roger Mendoza placed sixth at 157.

Kizer took third place in his bracket but then beat the second-place finisher in a wrestleback match to earn the silver medal.

At the Geary Invitational, the third-place finisher can challenge the runner-up, if the two hadn’t already faced each other in the tournament.

Kizer beat Wes Madden of Edmond North by a 3-2 decision in the third-place match. He then challenged Daniel Acosta of Randall (Texas) for second place, and came away with another 3-2 decision.

Mendoza lost his final match to Choctaw’s Garrett Williams by a major decision to finish in sixth place.

Edmond North won the team title with 151.5 points. Broken Arrow was second with 148 points followed by Tuttle (134.5), Bixby (89.5) and Randall (Texas) with 72.
