Lady Bombers come up short at Classen SAS

Last week was up and down for the Midwest City girls basketball team.

The Lady Bombers topped Altus 56-36 on Jan. 14 but dropped a key game at Classen SAS 46-36 on Friday night.

Ceidi Johnson led the way against Altus, scoring 15 points including three 3-pointers. Layla Jones and Sevyn Miller had 11 points apiece.

The Lady Bombers had a chance to move into second place in District 5A-2 with a win over Classen SAS but came up short.

The Lady Comets finished the second quarter strong for a 26-16 halftime lead. Midwest City picked up the scoring in the fourth quarter with 14 points, but it wasn’t enough.

Jones led the team with 10 points.

Midwest City was on the road again this week. They traveled to Duncan on Tuesday and will play at Western Heights on Friday.
