Carl Albert’s swimming teams placed second — only by Class 6A powerhouse Jenks — last weekend at the Jenks Invitational.

The Lady Titans finished ahead of Bixby and 5A rival Shawnee in the girls team standings. The boys team blew away Bishop Kelley for second in the team standings.

Host Jenks swept the competition during the two-day meet at the Jenks Aquatic Center.

Junior Charlotte Peters was the top individual placer for the Carl Albert girls. She took second in the 200-yard Individual Medley (2:24.03) and was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.94).

Hailey Hunt was fifth in both the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly.

The Lady Titans swam second in the 200 medley relay. Hunt, Peters, Briana Lam and Journey Blackwell finished with a time 2:03.06. Journi LaValley, Berkly Wilkins, Brenlee Lam and Jaelyn Lewis finished third in the 200 freestyle relay (2:01.38).

Ridge Thornton led the way for the Carl Albert boys team, as he finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:56.04) and third in the 100 freestyle (51.44).

Andrew Campbell was also a runner-up in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.28 seconds, while swimming fourth in the 100 freestyle.

Kaleb Smith took third place in the 100 butterfly (57.37) and fifth in the 200 IM.

Gatlin Walworth (50 freestyle), Colt Cruzan (500 freestyle) and Dylan McDonald (100 breaststroke) each placed fifth.

The Titans earned silver in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays, while taking third in the 200 medley relay.

Reese Rushing, Tyler Braun, Thornton and Campbell finished the 200 free relay in 1:35.93. The 400 freestyle relay team included Smith, Braun, Thornton and Campbell and finished in 3:32.38.

In the 200 medley relay, Rushing, Dylan McDonald, Smith and Corbin Williams clocked a time of 1:50.74, which was good for third place.

Del City’s Tyler Townsend took fourth in the 200 IM in 2:19.55 and was seventh in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.23.

The Mid-Del swimmers will compete in the 5A East Regional meet Feb. 8.
