Carl Albert competes at East vs. West meet

Carl Albert’s track teams competed against some of the best Class 6A schools in the state at the East vs. West Track Meet March 25 at Edmond Santa Fe High School.
Daniel Newton was the Titans’ top performer as he won the discus with a throw of 175 feet, 5 inches.
The Titans cracked the top five in two of the boys relays. They were fourth in the 1600-meter relay and fifth in the 400 relay.
Todd James and Killian Smith also shined in the 400 meters. James was fifth in 52.33 and Smith was close behind in sixth place with a time of 52.45 seconds.
Tyler Costner placed sixth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.55 seconds.
In the girls’ competition, Azsalind King tied for first in the high jump alongside Choctaw’s Haylee Jaworsky. Both girls cleared 5 feet, 3 inches.
Simone Lister was seventh in both the 100 and 200 meters, and Latrece Logan came in eighth in the 400 meters.
Carl Albert boys and girls also won a mixed 1600 meter relay race, finishing in 3:44.94.
Carl Albert will host the Carl Albert Invitational on Friday at Gary Rose Stadium.
