A Carl Albert coaching legend is headed to the hall of fame.
Former head football coach Mike Corley has been selected to the Oklahoma Coaches Hall of Fame.
Corley led the Titans to four state championships after taking over for longtime coach Gary Rose in 2017. He finished with a record of 52-2 during his four-year tenure before retiring in 2021.
After retiring as head coach, Corley continued to serve as an assistant under current head coach Mike Dunn.
The Oklahoma Coaches Association recently announced that Corley will be one of 13 individuals from across the State of Oklahoma that will be inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Hall of Fame during the annual OCA Coaches Clinic and All State week this summer.
Corley started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Northeastern State in Tahlequah. He later moved to the high school ranks, serving as an assistant at Moore, Duncan, Lawton and eventually Carl Albert. He was a defensive assistant for 14 years for the Titans with the last nine as defensive coordinator.
The 2025 OCA Hall of Fame Class includes: Duke Atterberry (Pawhuska), Theodore “Ted” Clement (Muskogee), Mike Corley (Carl Albert), Bob Craig (Cascia Hall), Joe Gordon (Wagoner), Steve Hesser (Bartlesville), Harold Jones (Dale), Randall King (Broken Arrow), Steve Lykes (Piedmont), Rick Patterson (Sapulpa), Matt Surber (Tuttle), and Virgil Terry (Sallisaw). Randy Gipson (Northeastern State University) will be recognized for Distinguished Service.
Former Carl Albert cheer coach Grace Dozier was inducted to the Hall of Fame last year.
The Coaches Hall of Fame Inductees are individuals in the High School coaching profession that have 15 years as a head coach, or 25 total years as a head coach, head junior high coach, or assistant high school coach in Oklahoma. Distinguished Service inductees are those people in the coaching profession that have made a direct contribution to athletics in Oklahoma, but do not have the required number of high school years’ service; or, those officials, athletic trainers, players, etc., that have made a direct contribution to the growth and well-being of the Oklahoma Coaches Association.
The OCA Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet will be held at the Southern Hills Marriott Hotel, located at 1902 E. 71st St. in Tulsa, on July 26 at 6:30 p.m.
