Grady County District 1 Barn to Host Open House and Dedication June 10

Grady County District 1 will host an open house and dedication ceremony on Tuesday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the District 1 barn, located at 860 County Street 2910, Tuttle, OK 73089.

The event will give the public a chance to tour the facility and honor the legacy of three former commissioners: Roy Testerman, Troy Streber, and Windle Hardy.

“We’re going to display and dedicate our building to some past commissioners,” said District 1 Commissioner Zac Davis. “There’s three commissioners that kind of built our end of the county into what it is, and we’re going to dedicate that building to those guys.”

“Commissioner Streber had the foresight,” Davis added. “The north end was growing, and that was where our population was going to be. They’d outgrown that barn down in Amber. It was literally just a one-bay shop with a little office in it. He moved the District 1 barn to where it is now.”

“We’re going to do a little unveiling, have a little dedication stone, and just kind of let people see what we’ve built,” Davis said. “We just want folks to come out and see what we’ve been doing.”
