Miss Juneteenth Midwest City crowned

Juneteenth Midwest City welcomed new royalty.

Tiarra Mims was crowned Miss Juneteenth Midwest City 2025 during a ceremony Tuesday evening at the Midwest City Library.

Mims lives in Midwest City and will be a senior at Classen SAS High School. She is involved in cheerleading, Girls Scouts and choir. She also enjoys baking, diamond art crafts and traveling with her family.

Marcus Hayes, President of the Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association was emcee for the event. Shane Barnard placed the Crown on the new Miss Juneteenth of Midwest City. Also present for the celebration was last year’s (2024) Miss Juneteenth, D’Azhane Frazier and young Miss Juneteenth of Midwest City, Drew Bradley.

Mims also appeared before the Midwest City Council before arriving at the banquet. She recognized Mayor Matt Dukes for his support of the Juneteenth Midwest City.

There were many guests at the banquet, including the Mayor of Spencer, Charmin Williams. And former Midwest City Councilwomen Espaniola Bowen and Christine Price-Allen.

Juneteenth Midwest City Family Festival will take place 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. June 14 at Joe B. Barnes Regional Park.
