Mid-Del softball players earn district awards

Mid-Del high school softball players were recently recognized for their individual efforts this season.

Midwest City had several players recognized in the All-District 6A-4 team. Junior Noreli Brown was named to the all-district team as a pitcher and Liv Davis was selected as utility player.

Brown had an ERA of 5.46 and recorded 246 strikeouts, while batting .565.

Addison Scott, Jayda Jacobs, Natalia Wilson and Kenee Thompson were honorable mention.

Thompson was also named to the All-Region 13 team for 6A.

Carl Albert and Del City were both recognized in the All-District 5A-2 awards.

Carl Albert’s Brenna Choate was named the District Defensive Player of the Year. Bailey Rusche (catcher), AJ Bennett (second base), Journi LaValley (outfield) and Bree Hawkins (utility) were First Team All-District selections.

LaValley was the Lady Titans’ top hitter with a .442 average. Hawkins led with 31 RBIs.

Addalyn Smith (outfield), Alexis Miller (utility), Madison Ethridge (pitcher) and Kynlee Sutton (utility) were Second Team selections.

Del City’s Ava Vara, Lailoni Horton and McKenna Ford were First Team All-District selections. Cheyan Creekmore,

Zamora Walker and Jordan Hernandez made the Second Team.

Vara led the team in hitting with a .394 average. Horton was the team leader in RBIs (20), doubles (6) and triples (3).

Karlie Haley was named the Coach of the Year for District 5A-2.
